Anxiety & Depression
Anxiety and depression can make everyday life feel heavier than it looks from the outside. You may be doing everything expected of you while privately struggling with worry, exhaustion, sadness, or a sense of disconnection.
You do not have to wait until things become unbearable to ask for support. Counseling can help you understand what you’re experiencing and find a way forward that fits your life.
When it feels difficult to find your footing
Your mind rarely feels quiet, even when nothing is obviously wrong.
You replay conversations or worry about what might happen next.
You avoid situations because they feel overwhelming.
You’re tired of feeling like you have to hold everything together.
Things that once felt enjoyable no longer hold the same appeal.
You feel discouraged, numb, or unusually hard on yourself.
You have difficulty concentrating or making decisions.
You feel tense, restless or on edge.
How counseling can help
Anxiety and depression can affect how you think, feel, relate to others, and move through everyday life. Counseling offers an opportunity to understand what is contributing to your distress and begin making changes that feel manageable and meaningful.
I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), within a collaborative, person-centered approach. Together, we may examine patterns of thinking and behavior, respond differently to difficult emotions, reduce avoidance, and develop practical strategies for daily life.
What this work looks like
Counseling is about more than managing symptoms. It's also about making room for your own well-being, finding your footing through change, and feeling more confident in yourself. Together, we can work toward:
Understanding patterns
Recognizing connections between thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and experiences.
Responding with greater flexibility
Approaching difficult thoughts and feelings with compassion, without being controlled by them.
Managing anxiety and low mood
Developing coping strategies that support daily functioning and emotional well-being
Reconnecting with yourself
Making room for relationships, activities, and values that bring meaning to your life
Understanding the patterns that keep us stuck
How thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect
The way we think, feel, and respond to experiences is closely connected. When we are anxious or depressed, we may anticipate the worst, withdraw from things we enjoy, or become especially critical of ourselves. These patterns can reinforce distress over time.
Why recognizing our patterns matters
Many patterns develop for understandable reasons. Counseling can help you notice these connections, reconsider beliefs that are no longer helpful, and try new responses. Even small shifts can create more room for relief and choice.
You don’t have to keep carrying this alone.
If anxiety or depression is affecting your life, we can explore what support might look like for you.
